What’s On in Covent Garden This Christmas

Covent Garden is the place to be this Christmas, with plenty of festive fun to enjoy!

Winter Warmer Festival & Festive Thursdays
The countdown to Christmas has officially begun, and Covent Garden is embracing the holiday season with open arms. The Winter Warmer Festival is back, inviting you to enjoy late-night shopping, cosy mulled wine, and festive vibes all around. Whether you’re ticking off your gift list or just enjoying the atmosphere, this is the perfect way to spend your Thursdays in the lead-up to Christmas.

Skate at Somerset House
If you’ve never skated at Somerset House, this winter is the time to do it. The ice rink, framed by a 40ft Christmas tree, is one of London’s favourite festive traditions. Trust us – it’s the ultimate Christmas experience!

Covent Garden’s Christmas Tree & Santa’s Sleigh
This year, Covent Garden’s West Piazza is home to a dazzling 60ft Christmas tree that’s impossible to miss. It’s the perfect spot for a festive selfie, especially with the iconic Christmas sleigh nearby. This isn’t just any sleigh – it’s a beautifully restored 1884 carriage, hand-painted by British artist James Gemmill, and it’s here for free photo ops throughout November and December.

Wonder Wood & Mulled Wine
Explore the Wonder Wood on James Street and sip mulled wine from stations around Central Avenue as you wander through the magical displays.

Maxwell's Christmas Menu After all that festive fun, head to Maxwell's Bar and Grill to refuel. Celebrate Christmas in the heart of Covent Garden with a selection of your favourite dishes, plus seasonal specials. Don’t miss our Roast Turkey with all the trimmings, crafted to make your holiday meal extra special. And, of course, festive cocktails that will keep the holiday cheer going.
